The National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) in partnership with the American Sexually Transmitted Disease Association (ASTDA) is hosting a webinar: Point of Care Testing-Where Are We Going?  

 

This webinar will provide a basic understanding of the framework for POC testing for sexually transmitted infections within the STD Clinical setting. Discover what POC tests are currently available for Chlamydia, gonorrhea, Syphilis, Herpes and Trichomoniasis and the new advances that are being made.

 

The Presenter:

Dr. Charlotte Gaydos is a Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Johns Hopkins University, Director of the North American Branch for the International Union Against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI), and President Elect of the Global Executive Committee. She is the Director of the International STI, Respiratory Diseases, and Biothreat Research Laboratory. She has 45 years laboratory expertise in microbiology, has authored 26 book chapters, 385 research articles, and >500 abstracts/oral presentations.  She serves on the editorial board of the STD journal and executive committee of the American STD Association. She is P.I. of an NIH Center grant to develop point-of-care tests for STIs.
